Birthday Candle Garland

Do you have a birthday party coming up? You probably already have all the supplies on hand to make this cute birthday candle garland! Paper straws come in so many colours and patterns that you can easily customize this garland to match the rest of your party decor.

Supplies: Tissue paper (orange and yellow), scissors, string, hot glue gun, ruler, paper straws.

Step 1: Cut the paper straws in half.
Step 2: Rip the orange tissue paper into pieces about 2" long and 1" wide. Rip the yellow tissue paper into slightly smaller pieces, as shown below. Place the yellow piece on top of the orange piece and twist. Make as many flames as you have straw pieces.
Step 3: Thread the straws onto a piece of string. Apply a dab of hot glue into the bottom of each straw and press the string into it. Keep the straws about 5" apart.
Step 4: Put the twisted ends of the flames into the tops of the straws. Squeeze a small dab of hot glue into the top of the straw and press the tissue paper into it. Repeat as desired.
